Ramadan

Month, Day: 168, Perfection, Splendour (Perfection)

This year, Ramadan starts with Perfection, the last of the Teleological. Interesting.

---

The month through the years of the blog.
  • August, 2008 -- three quotes from Some Answered Questions set the tone.
  • March, 2009 -- we see the Attributes repeat each month, paired. Then, we can have the day, to boot (as, today is Perfection). Light starts the Teleological which Perfection closes.
  • July, 2009 -- see any flaws?
  • January, 2010 -- about the Manifestation, and science. We cannot understand Perfection, given our limits. Yet, there are things that we can study and apply (next up, Operational).
  • July, 2010 -- pursuant to the prior bullet, 'return' will be a key topic. Nothing to be afraid of in looking at this further.
Remarks:

08/11/2011 -- This year, in Perfection, we had a triple day.

Perfection

Month, Day: Perfection, Sovereignty (Beauty)
SAQ #28: Before appearing in the human form, the Word of God was in the utmost sanctity and glory, existing in perfect beauty and splendor in the height of its magnificence.

Month, Day:
Perfection, Speech (Majesty)
SAQ #46: When man looks at the beings with a penetrating regard, and attentively examines the condition of existences, and when he sees the state, the organization and the perfection of the world, he will be convinced that in the possible world there is nothing more wonderful than that which already exists.

Month, Day: Perfection, Perfection (Independence)

SAQ #39: Verily, from the beginning that Holy Reality is conscious of the secret of existence, and from the age of childhood signs of greatness appear and are visible in Him. Therefore, how can it be that with all these bounties and perfections He should have no consciousness?

Remarks:

08/27/2012 -- Today, we have another type of double day.

12/21/2009 -- More on the diagonal or square'd days.

08/05/2009 -- We'll look at SAQ #37 more in the context of how the Teleological influences.

05/29/2009 -- The Transcendent baffles.

Gift of Perfection

Month, Day: 170, Perfection, Splendour (Majesty)

We close the Teleological and get ready for the Operational and beyond. What better gift than that? With Questions in each month, as well as a Motivational assist?

---

So, we'll now have 19 days of congruence with which to ponder how audacity ought to unfold and many other things. We'll be back on eight of eight (Perfection of Perfection) for a few more words.

Remarks:

08/08/2013 -- Perfection/Perfection.

08/01/2013 -- Gift? Yes, let Teleological, and the concept's wide variety of connotations, be the clue.

Octaves?

Month, Day: 170, Perfection, Perfection (Majesty)

4 Attributes, 5 Groups
By having the yearly congruence, we can see a little closer.  Earlier, I mentioned sevenths (and other groupings) in the sense of chords.  However, the grouping went along only one axis in the discussion. That way, one might see Light/Knowledge/Loftiness, for example.

---

Seven is an interesting number. The week's length gives us work and rest days; of course, we got that from Genesis.

Today, I was thinking of going along the other axis. In that mode, one finds that Perfection would start the second group. As follows:
  • Splendour, Glory, Beauty, Grandeur, Light, Mercy, Words
  • Perfection, Names, Might, Will, Knowledge, Power, Speech
  • Questions, Honour, Sovereignty, Dominion, ??, Loftiness
"??"? Yes, for the year, we have the intercalary period which ought to be of interest to a scientific view (more on this, over time). In the months, is there a "null" between Dominion and Loftiness?

Why ask? Well, we have two mappings, which would depend upon the choice. Light/Knowledge/Loftiness, as mentioned above. And, Light/Knowledge/??. Ah, like that?

You see, audacity would say that the models need to change to allow something like this, Great Undecidable (characterize it, or name it, as you wish -- at least, be respectful of the choice, if not for yourself, for others -- the choice? yes, a fundamental right for everyone to make for themselves).

However GU works, it has already led our technical prowess to a stalemate. That is, the technical, mathematical framework has come back upon itself. Well, as we can argue, people have to be central to a proper working of that framework. For some reason, modern hubris has chosen to throw out intuition and to allow computers to reign (many times).

All arguable, yet the whole issue is whether doing the above-suggested would have operational effects (note, please, that measurability would be subsumed under this, not drive it -- to rephrase, the change would be toward a mode in which mathematics participated but did not own the principle views). The key thing now would be to set up the proper experimentation.

And, that would not be within the context mentioned by the Master (miracles, where the Glory challenged the mullahs to ask for a miracle which, as we know, is only for those there). For such, those not there, either because of space or time, have the right to play the doubting Thomas.

Too, science's basis is public, repeatable, and several other things. It turns out that we do have something emerging that would provide the platform for experimentation (the web, in a very broad sense). This platform would, for one, break the barriers related to elitism that is so rampant in modern thought.

That last statement? Consider, please, the imperative nature of the autodidact's contributions.

Perfection squared

Month, Day: Loftiness, Perfection (Perfection)

We see a square day in the month of Perfection, yet it could be a triple day with the month, day of the month, and the day of the week all the same. The other Attributes that can be thusly aligned are Glory and Beauty.

Light is just past, followed by Mercy.

Light? Yes, it goes amongst all worlds. Interesting possibilities can arise from proper reflection on this. Is that allowed? Well, science is as open as it can be, and limit testing is allowed. Otherwise? What good would science be? Too, real limits would become known, as we saw with Heisenberg's insights.

Aqdas #126: In the Bayán it had been forbidden you to ask Us questions. The Lord hath now relieved you of this prohibition, that ye may be free to ask what you need to ask, but not such idle questions as those on which the men of former times were wont to dwell.

From Wonderment: “O Son, if thou art able not to sleep, then thou art able not to die. And if thou art able not to waken after sleep, then thou shalt be able not to rise after death.”

Too, Light is involved with connections, as we see with this bit-oriented space with which we are enthralled.

From Wonderment: Consider the difference between these two worlds and the mysteries which they conceal, that thou mayest attain to divine confirmations and heavenly discoveries and enter the regions of holiness.

Mercy. Yes, a necessity.

The real mystery? Words!

As said before, the order of the Attributes has some type of meaning for us. For instance, one can think of groupings, like this. A caveat, to anticipate undo criticism, is that this is only one of an infinitely large set of arrangements.
  • Splendour, Glory, Beauty, Grandeur -- Aqdas #142: Verily, He revealed certain laws so that, in this Dispensation, the Pen of the Most High might have no need to move in aught but the glorification of His own transcendent Station and His most effulgent Beauty.
  • Light, Mercy, Words, Perfection -- the teleological
  • Names, Might, Will, Knowledge -- our operational apparatus
  • Power, Speech, Questions, Honour -- our mode of, motivation for, control
  • Sovereignty, Dominion, Loftiness -- ascendant, transcendent
Remarks:

08/27/2012 -- Today, we have another type of double day.

06/25/2011 -- There are also days where the week day and the month day coincide. Like today, Glory, Glory of Mercy. And, tomorrow, Beauty, Beauty of Mercy.

12/21/2009 -- More on the diagonal or square'd days.
03/19/2009 -- Science and knowing are key.

Perfection, remix

Month, Day: Words, Dominion (Majesty)
Month, Day: Perfection, Splendour (Glory)

Well, Words is winding down. It's still the Teleological times. But, thoughts on Perfection seem to want to well with the associated words.

Things that come to mind are Ideal, Sinlessness, etc. There are several discussions about this, such as SAQ 45# .

'Ideal' here is much more than the limited conceptualization of philosophy (except the Platonic version has some appeal).

Right after this month, we'll be into the Operational with Names. Perhaps, Perfection can be used to ponder Names, Might, Will, and Knowledge. That first? It's essential to analysis and technology.

...

This time comes in the middle of the summer in the northern hemisphere, with those days of mature crop advancing to the harvest which is around the corner. One might say, too, time to enjoy the fruits of the labor.

Of course, in the new day, crops are coming to maturity almost all year around, depending up climate and technology. Yet, the pattern will persist.

Hence, thoughts on Perfection are in order, thinking of the gifts of Creation, including, of course, that we can study it via science, yet, the greater gift is that we can live in it as beings. Ah, the science of being? Will that be where audacity can play?

7V4V Knowledge: The wayfarer in this Valley seeth in the fashionings of the True One nothing save clear providence, and at every moment saith: “No defect canst thou see in the creation of the God of Mercy: Repeat the gaze: Seest thou a single flaw?”

Remarks:

08/05/2009 -- We'll look at SAQ #37 more in the context of how the Teleological influences.

Overcoming ignorance

Month, Day: 169, Names, Perfection (Perfection)

As said, favorite month, after Questions. Dawkins is wrong about religion being where questions/intellect stop. We'll have to go into that further at some point (see Brights).

Questions is part of our basis (Motivational); we'll be getting back to that, too. By the way, we're into the Operational times. The Teleological ended with Perfection. This is a type of Perfection-squared day (see definition of Groups in this post).

---

This day, 08/27/1912: Consider human ignorance and inconsistency. A man who kills another man is punished by execution, but a military genius who kills one hundred thousand of his fellow creatures is immortalized as a hero. One man steals a small sum of money and is imprisoned as a thief. Another pillages a whole country and is honored as a patriot and conqueror. A single falsehood brings reproach and censure, but the wiles of politicians and diplomats excite the admiration and praise of a nation. Consider the ignorance and inconsistency of mankind. How darkened and savage are the instincts of humanity!

 ---

In New England, the Master's message had many interesting tones, that we'll be looking (motivation for this will be forthcoming, to boot). Personally, I'm looking forward to following the western journey (albeit, 100 years later).

Gog and Magog

Month, Day: 179, Perfection, Perfection (Perfection)

This is one of those rare times when we have a triple, of month, day, and day of the week. And, Perfection? We will get back to these.

For some reason, 'Gog and Magog' has been gnawing at me, from some memory of long ago which had to do with Jewish friends. Of late, I have been reading a book about the Hasidic view of the world. Very interesting, mainly due to my Catholic upbringing which consisted of immersion in the Testaments, mostly the New. For some reason, I had a notion that this dealt with technology. Will track that down.

In terms of technology, people are infatuated greatly with what I call AIn't which has a technical purpose. We will be getting to that, in terms of truth engineering. As someone mentioned today in a forum, academia has looked at this forever, it seems. So, where are the failings? Are there failings? Well, we see a fantasy, essentially, being the basis for major world views. Wait, that argument can be made from several other angles, as well.

So, how to proceed? Well, as before, with some commentary plus pointers to material. First, Gog and Magog from three major views.

Technical motives will necessitate some changes that are not explicitly covered in the Writings. At the core of the decisions will be a balance twixt the human abilities versus that of the artificial (context more than the AIn't view).

Psychology will be a central theme, too, with many types of research done over the years will have results coming to fore, such as application of Jung's ideas (several). Too, the merging of a new approach to cognition will be part of the dynamic. Not the least, changes in attitude about mathematics, and computing, will allow hitherto fore ignored discussions and work.

Throughout all of this, stabilizing influences will come via cultures across the board, and the world, offering their insights gained over time and through locational imperatives.

Eve of Perfection

Month, Day: 167, Words, Dominion (Independence)

We're at Perfection's eve. Too, the last of the Teleological group is coming up.

The themes?

On the one hand, we have science and its secular views. On the other, we have Perfection as exemplified by the Manifestation. Then, despite the supposed gap, we know that these two views can be balanced.

How? Without audacity? Are we allowed to apply science to understanding the Manifestation?

No easy answers, rather Questions abound. But, we also know that structure for this is there, that is, means exist. As well, patience is important; Search is endless upon unfathomable regions that do exhibit, and embed, Names, from whence come our observable patterns.

...

Again, we see the gift of the Operational. As well, we continue to use our yearly measure.

Remarks:

08/19/2010 -- Teleological finale.

07/31/2010 -- Return, and more, is apropos. SAQ (#33): As the beginning was a seed and the end is a seed, we say that the seed has returned. When we look at the substance of the tree, it is another substance, but when we look at the blossoms, leaves and fruits, the same fragrance, delicacy and taste are produced. Therefore, the perfection (emphasis mine) of the tree has returned a second time.

The triple

Month, Day: 168, Perfection, Will (Majesty)

On Monday, of this week, we had the rare triple: Perfection, Perfection, Perfection.

This is 'rare' in that we have only 3 of the days of the week (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) which are also in the Attribute list.

---

The double days are more regular.

---

It is interesting that two of the possible triple days are on our traditional weekend. Then, the third is like we had this year with the day that starts the work week.

---

One thing that we might want to look at is to see how many memes map to the Writings. The meme. Almost metaphysical, yet not.

---

IQAN (pr 210): Ponder the blessed verse, so that the meaning of the words: “There is neither a thing green nor sere but it is noted in the unerring Book,” may be imprinted upon the tablet of thy heart.

Audacious comment

Month, Day: 170, Perfection, Beauty (Glory)

I did not expect to be back to this until 8/8 (Perfection squared; here's another type), however a comment left on the Baha'i Faith and Science Talk page provided an unexpected motivation. Rather than respond to the comment on the Talk page, I decided to do so here.

Firstly, the comment (in part - see discussion, below) from Anonymous (from Texas): ... But I also believe in prophecy. I have my own interpretations of Baha'i prophecies on science. I believe that what this page says about creation and nuclear power is true.... As for ether, I believe that Abdul Baha was referring to the Higgs boson. Transmutation of elements? I believe that refers to picotechnology and femtotechnology which are orders of magnitude smaller than nanotechnology. ...

Secondly, there are many things to discuss, in an audacious mode. Whether or not the topic gets attention by those doing "scholarly" work can be immaterial. I can put my finger on several examples where the peers did not understand some person who turned out to be right. But, more, it's a matter of concern for the individual (no group will stand in your stead when it's your time). This is brief, but we can say this: science, and knowledge, are far beyond what the current-day cohorts (of talent, drive -- in other words, on the largely-gifted side -- see the little thing about gallons, cups, handfuls) have wrapped within their mathematically-flavored sense of reality.

Thirdly, we have the Wiki policies to consider. That is not the platform for discussion or creatively expressed ideas. So, where is there such? Well, we could have a page off the BF&S to allow such. The Talk page has gotten a lot of use.

---

I like the use of "prophecy" and am assuming some notion of other ways of knowing. One onus for those of the BF'ers (or any who honor spirituality) would be to counter yokes that are all the time trying to encompass being (restrain it) into a bounded state. Mind you, an individual very well may constrain itself; that is a matter of choice (actually, it is counseled - but, against whose judgment is one to reflect for value?). It's more than a matter of constraints; any autodidact would easily show something to his/her peers, if they would listen (unfortunately, that is not the way of the world whose principle value resides within a committee who offers prizes -- we can discuss this, at length).

Yes, the BF&S page mentions a lot more than it did in 2005. That denotes progress. But, some of the words seem to dance around (almost tautological view of minerals being everywhere - as if this were life in the larger connotations), so as to not get dinged (?) by those who are virulently supportive of their modern views (some of which are more scientism than not - sometimes noted as Brights, here). So, the comment's take on the items is nice to see. We'll get back to this.

Ether? Yes, that is a problematic area; it's almost a litmus test to see if someone falls into hubris with their knowledge. Consider, too, psyche-ether's use, to boot. One thing that grates, frankly, on the BF&S page was the almost apologetic explanation of what the Master meant. Granted, language is temporal and situational. Yet, that to which the Master alluded did not fade away (just as God did not die). So, see the next item, please.

Higgs? Yes, a lot of money has been (is being) spent to find out what we already know (there is something from the Bab about the new-born babe today knowing more than all of the scholars of His time --- applies today, given time, I'll explain). Again, it gets back to private versus public knowledge. The former is not illusory, by nature (in fact, it's more real than the latter). The latter is artifact-based (including language being used as a tool), as in, does not deal with essence.

And, the models that motivate the money being spent get re-inforced by the intelligent cosmos (small "c" used purposely). That is, what was found out was precisely what we were led to find out. Yet, the large truth is still there, ready for grasping. The main question is how this might come about. Consider: a future model, where the Great Undecidable nestles within and surrounds the computational - essentially, a wisely attuned quasi-empirical framework as the operational basis. Again, just a brief statement here; can discuss this ad infinitum.

Now, two paragraphs above, I suggested that we already know. Yes, that pertains to bringing back intuition into the equation. How this might be done will be a whole area of study and practice in itself. Perhaps, our main hope is that the BF, using the Master and more, can demonstrate efficacy (such as we will need) in establishing such (more than cognition).

---

So, considering that futurists can be listened to (with a grain of salt and more), why not have a section on the BF&S page dealing with the future. After all, the cosmologists have run amok already far beyond what their model can support (ah, how to explain this to them?). Perhaps, a more tempered viewpoint deserves some attention.

Remarks:

04/03/2015 -- This is a popular post. See NDEers for a bit of audacity.

09/30/2013 -- More of a technical nature.

08/08/2013 -- Perfection/Perfection.

08/04/2013 -- This is not to be construed as an off-site area for discussion of Wikipedia content. Rather, it's a blog with a Science/Religion flavor within the contexts mentioned in the Title written and maintained by the blogger representing only his viewpoint.  There just happened to be a recent overlap of interest with an entry on a particular Talk page. Hey. In truth, this blog started since Wikipedia is not the platform for the content that this blog attempts to bring forth for discussion.

08/04/2013 -- Forgot to mention the Great Ether. Incidentally, the list of things to discuss is very long. Here is one thrown out in good spirit: Virgin Mary. But, once opening the door, it's hard to stop: Apple of the Eye of the Bab.

Ontology from Honour

Month, Day: Perfection, Questions (Glory)
Month, Day: Perfection, Honour (Beauty)

Anticipating Names (and the Operational), we can use Honour to kick off some discussion to begin to construct a new view for science. Such an attempt could help overlay the results from materialism and reductionism with a coherent integrative view that would allow spirit some recognition.

Testable? Yes.

Now, this work would not invalidate, by necessity, knowledge obtained to date. No, it would be like mechanical Newtonian views being extended through concepts that came about through grappling with relativity.

The Four Valleys can help get us started.

The First Valley: Hereafter We will show them Our signs in the regions of the earth, and in themselves, until it become manifest unto them that it is the truth.

As well, we have the first world, namely mineral. That is, matter and existence at its primal; Names, in other words. So, things are (SAQ #79). Each atom is a door to knowledge (paraphrase). Attributes: being, place, ...

The Second Valley: ... this is the station of primal reason.

The mineral supports the spirits, beginning with the vegetative (SAQ #36, SAQ #55). It is more than happenstance that the tree can be used to represent logic.

From a computational sense, we've seen analog and digital types represents by the mineral (and electromagnetism). Some have looked at bioinformatics, especially at the micro-biological level. Yet, what other types will emerge? A macro-biological variety is of interest, to boot.

Attributes: growth, awareness, ...

Any movement is constrained. Autonomous activity comes up next.

The Third Valley: ... but they gallop their chargers.

The next of the spirits is the animal (SAQ #36, SAQ #55). Here we have movement of a very wide variety. Again, computation has only briefly touched this (swarms, etc.).

Attributes: sensation, movement, homeostasis, ...

The Fourth Valley: Herein the high heavens are in no conflict with the lowly earth, nor do they seek to excel it, for this is the land of mercy, not the realm of distinction

Then, we have the human spirit (SAQ #36, SAQ #55) with its limitlessness, especially the facility to run off after abstraction. We need to turn things around to get mathematics based upon matter and more. What will this look like?

Attributes: Any and All

As a final note, we can't leave Perfection without mentioning this. SAQ #46: Now, if we imagine a time when man belonged to the animal world, or when he was merely an animal, we shall find that existence would have been imperfect—that is to say, there would have been no man, and this chief member, which in the body of the world is like the brain and mind in man, would have been missing.

Remarks:

09/26/2009 -- An issue for the Operational view.

08/16/2009 -- The Operational group is approaching, and ontology is primal. One area of focus, as suggested by this post, will be mind-body studies. Somehow, insights from the Writings ought to have importance, teleological and operational.

Posts of interest - 2011

Month, Day: 168, Honour, Glory (Beauty)

It's interesting that the last day of Questions, our favorite month, lands on the day before the end of the year. Then, the first day of Honour lands on the last day of the year. We have more of a congruence with the first day of Perfection which is August 1.

With the year change, it might be good to list the most read posts as of today.
  • -- Technical spirit -- From 2009. If one starts from a simple binary question (Anselm's idea), then one can build from either side. Now, problems come from comparative analysis done in a non-charitable manner. In the context of Independence (a weekly occurrence), would not having the ability to know the foundation to the core (at least, as far a logical structure may allow) be of assistance? Also, would not knowing the pitfalls on each side reinforce the need for taking the middle way?
  • -- Yearly measure -- From 2009. Yes, there are things that we could be looking at more rigorously, in order to firm up the quasi-empirical basis. This is one of those. Why a sun-centric view? That is part of the plan of Creation (footstool, et al).
  • -- The autodidact -- From 2009. This whole theme needs some improvement. In short, the Principle of Independent Investigation of the Truth provides the over-arching motivation.
  • -- The Key -- From 2010. There is a Key that is being ignored. Arguments seem to gravitate toward older viewpoints that are easily discarded by modern views. Yet, dynamics are there; that is, these are cloaked, for good reason (as in Teleological motivations), and difficult to understand in the public sense that is required for certain frameworks of science.
Perhaps, there ought to be more emphasis on Audacity in 2012. The Writings as Source for creative imagination that has an operational power? You bet!!! To do so means to stand up to arguments from the brights, many of which will be ad hominen.

Remarks:

08/08/2013 -- Perfection/Perfection.

05/30/2012 -- Hitch will be a regular topic.

A System

Month, Day: 167, Perfection, Honour (Perfection)

The last of the Motivational group, in this month of Perfection.

One could use the metaphor of attractors (and their opposites), somewhat. As we see from the Iqan (#213): He must so cleanse his heart that no remnant of either love or hate may linger therein, lest that love blindly incline him to error, or that hate repel him away from the truth.

Yet, measures come in, too. As, progress needs some type of denotation, and metric, to support the necessary controls. But, then the metrics are not sufficient.

Remarks:

08/31/2012 -- Names, Knowledge, Independence.

05/26/2011 -- A 'super' position can have merit.

05/17/2011 -- Stephen gets press.

05/09/2011 -- We need a constructive re-look.

04/04/2011 -- We'll be looking at things like foreknowledge. Man, and system.

08/19/2010 -- Measures do exist already, of many sorts.

The Teleological

Month, Day: Splendour, Words (Independence)
Month, Day: Splendour, Perfection (Glory)

In the context of audacity, there is much to this group (Light, Mercy, Words, Perfection). Particulars related to mathematics also pertain to the Operational (Names, Might, Will, Knowledge) group, starting with Names.

Perfection allows that we always have, and can know, ideals.

HW #76: Guidance hath ever been given by words, and now it is given by deeds.

SAQ #54: Now the writing emanates from the writer, and the discourse emanates from the speaker, and in the same way the human spirit emanates from God.
7V4V Knowledge: The wayfarer in this Valley seeth in the fashionings of the True One nothing save clear providence, and at every moment saith: “No defect canst thou see in the creation of the God of Mercy: Repeat the gaze: Seest thou a single flaw?”
Remarks:

Words to Perfection

Month, Day: 170, Words, Questions (Glory)
Month, Day: 170, Words, Honour (Beauty)

We'll continue to recall the 100 years ago visit.

---

But, Words, by themselves, are not enough. For instance, let's look at this.

Hidden Words, #30: O SON OF MAN! Deny not My servant should he ask anything from thee, for his face is My face; be then abashed before Me.

One can think of a number of things that one ought not do for another (be immoral, for instance - but, who's to judge that? --- more, do something illegal?). But, there are issues that can be fairly complicated to consider.

Now, juxtapose with this.

Gleanings, pg 263: It is for this reason that, in those days, no man shall ever stand in need of his neighbor.

We need to consider the role of independent views, for one thing. Audacity and science is another way to look at this.

---

Perfection is a theme that needs more attention. It's the month that has a beginning congruent to the beginning of August. It is the last of the Teleological group. Words and Names are symmetric around Perfection. And, much, much more.

Remarks:

08/01/2013 -- Nineteen whole days of congruence, each year. Gift, indeed.

Light was and is

Month, Day: Light, Loftiness (Perfection)

Light is ending today, as we go into the summer months of Mercy, then Words, then Perfection, and Names.
Light, which brought in the summer period, can support endless study and reflection. Light allows us to use the Hubble to show the limitlessness of the universe and pertains to much more, such as the technologies behind these new ways of communicating.

Hence, the mention in an earlier post about the operational aspects which are important to us (see ending of the 4th Valley of Four - Obey Me and I will make you like unto Myself. I say Be and it Is. You will say Be and it will be).
Mercy is what we're not to take for granted (SAQ #66) but that which we can (ought to) see as necessary.
That Perfection comes in this sequence pertains to the quote in the 7V4V (from the Quran -- No defect canst thou see in the creation of the God of Mercy: Repeat the gaze: Seest thou a single flaw?) that no matter where you look at Creation you see no flaws (so to speak).
Words and Names relate to technology, to boot, in several ways.

One problem with the modern age is that the 'operational' has taken precedence which would not have been so bad but that greed has interspersed itself so as to appear as the most rational of all stances.

You see, while we are here, with our free Will (fall month) and Independence (Friday), we can apply any operational scheme that remains within the proper scope (Covenant). This type of associative mapping could go on forever.

In short right now, as the posts will continue to unfold themes of this nature, one test for those who are enabled (by the Faith and Creation) relates to the peerage and the 'groupal' requirements, as we have been counseled that none stands in need of his neighbor when facing the review of one's life (St Peter's roll, from one view) and have been told that God loves those who works in groups.

You see, science is public; perhaps, some private aspect ought to be defined for the purposes of advancing further than mean-seeking dynamics allow.

A case in point can be described this way: A scientist (chemist?) noted that his early work included seeing molecules as beings (paraphrasing) which conceptual talent, when he admitted such, was labeled as unhealthy by certain views (materialistic brain expertise). Essentially, the guy lost his ability through conscious avoidance (perhaps, even with some pharmaceutical assistance) and gained success in his field through the usual methods.

My question: What was lost here with this type of suppression?

Eight months

Month, Day: 166, Perfection, Loftiness (Justice)
Month, Day: 166, Names, Splendour (Perfection)

Going through the Transcendent and Teleological offers a chance for reflection on the latter times. Thankfully, we'll go through them again each month.

Leaving Perfection motivates pointing to SAQ #37: If the attributes are not identical with the Essence, there must also be a multiplicity of preexistences, and differences between the attributes and the Essence must also exist; and as Preexistence is necessary, therefore, the sequence of preexistences would become infinite. This is an evident error.

As said before, that is very topological and is the basis for the Operational and the Motivational.

Names are

Month, Day: Names, Power (Perfection)

We'll keep the sufficiency discussion going by taking a meandering path for awhile. The road to truth may be straight, yet some side-trips are allowed (that we're given science as a means to know necessitates such [ah, Independence, for us, free will]).

In the progression of months, there has to be some meaning embedded in the sequence. Why? Nothing is random, essentially, though there are quasi-random processes that keep us within our limits. Now, whether or not we can discern what the meaning might be is one issue.

Another support for this notion is the Valley of Contentment (they eat of the endless bounties of inner significances) using the knowledge that we are part of and do not encompass Creation.

So, we can use the myriad potential permutations as inspiration to contemplate the Oceans that have been opened to our exploration with the advent of the Baha'i Revelation.

So, that Words and Names are symmetric around Perfection is very interesting. Of course, the former leads to ponder LOGOS and much more. The latter, from one viewpoint, is very much related to that world view that arises out of mathematical and computational efforts. How to show this is very much on the plate, and the topic does relate to the notions about sufficiency.

In our trek toward abstraction, which we can see this type of thinking as growing from way back in the past and accelerating from the works of 17th century minds onward to now, we loft ourselves, essentially, into a growing maze of groundless speculation. Okay, perhaps that is too strong; yet, that the epitome of thinking pushes us toward the loose mindset (relativity, unstructured) has to be explained somehow.

And, criticism without some notion of alternatives is as worthless as the groundless speculation. That is where Names comes in; but, Names, as we see in it being part of a collective, is not alone, nor sufficient. Names brings structure in several ways; such is imperative to our foundations.

Even though Creation-oriented thinking leads to a change is foundations, use of this respects the notions raised by the arguments of the quasi-empiricists and is operationally sound. The aforementioned audacity would be necessary due to the current climate that mocks any but the most extreme materialistic viewpoints.

The main question to ask is, how is it necessary that abstractionistic thinking leads to materialistic outcomes? Would not the spaces and structures that are the most powerful rest better on something that was revealed?

Ad hominen attacks against those struggling to turn the divinely inspired into the understandable demonstrate more the weakness of those lofting the attacks than it undermines the source motivating the studies to found a better ontology.

By the way, the motivation of all this is not to found some spiritual-based science; rather, it is to put a firmer foundation under our tenuous structures which are shaky from several sides (that things are not as firm as they could be is arguable, however it cannot be refuted); and, it might be said that some of the shakiness is in the design (Perfection has been misconstrued which will be part of the sufficiency discussions).

Perfection, beyond duals

Month, Day: 179, Splendour, Perfection (Perfection)

We have duals of many types, some of which propel cognitive views which are commendable such as how mathematics abets science.

One has to consider 'subjective faith' in this regard where science agrees with other than materialistic views. Actually, at the basis of modern thought, it is very much so as complex systems (and their many analogs) pertain to little that is 'real' (street sense) without some major morphs coming about. There are knotty items around always, with some old and some new. How can we differentiate? Ought we?

AI is an example that will be of interest for as long as people breathe. What the Writings can bring is a view that can inspire even if it does so cursorily. Even is this true for the Koran/Quran where many ideas that relate currently to a scientific/western thrust can map back, albeit morphed in ways that are to be studied.

Without further ado, let's just review a notion: Valleys, again. One can see Unity as a region of phasic change, several ways. But, all the way through these partitionings, there is such.

Mentioning AI, again? It may be that the computational framework can support an unfolding of the lower modes in order to allow mankind to excel in new ways. One key issue now that needs serious attention is the top-down structure as has been exemplified in the cloud (which is muddy almost to the state of opaqueness) which in no way enhances the user. That issue can be resolved.

An example, a slight perturbation of Spinoza's Ethics would apply. Many have seen this. One problem is the barriers to understanding that have resulted from current methods of mathematics and its child, computationalism.

The theme will be ongoing as the dynamics of religion/science continue. This realm of open problems was one motivation for the model sketched in the last post
